Treatment of white spots
Resin infiltration, a minimally invasive restorative procedure, effectively addresses white-spot lesions found on teeth. These lesions, also known as hypo spots or enamel bruising, manifest as white spots and typically arise due to enamel defects, trauma, or infection in primary teeth. They result from reduced calcium and ion access to deeper enamel layers, culminating in white spots on the tooth’s surface.
During ICON resin infiltration treatment, our dentists remove the obstructive outer enamel layer to allow better penetration of calcium and ions into the tooth, substituting it with an alternative substance. This procedure is swift and minimally invasive.
